RHODE ISLAND
THE JOHN BROWN HOUSE, 52 Power Street, Providence - Arrangements must be made in

THE GILBERT STUART BIRTHPLACE, Gilbert Stuart Road, Saunderstown - Arrangements
must be made in advance, and a nominal fee is charged. (401) 294-3001.
PROSPECT PARK, East Side of Providence - For couples who want an architectural
background, Prospect Park overlooks the City of Providence and all of its
grandeur.
THE GOVERNOR HENRY LIPPITT HOUSE MUSEUM, 199 Hope Street, Providence - A
wonderful location for wedding photographs, both inside the high-style Victorian
mansion and outdoors by the magnificent cast-iron water fountain. For more

ROGER WILLIAMS NATIONAL MEMORIAL, Downtown Providence - A beautiful national
park in the heart of downtown Providence, with lovely manicured grounds and
abundant free parking. An application form must be completed. Generally there is
no fee. Call ahead: (401) 521-7266.
WATERPLACE PARK, Downtown Providence - A beautiful and welcomed addition to the
downtown cityscape, the park offers a very contemporary backdrop for your
formals. If you plan to photograph here, be sure to call City Hall to see if any
events are scheduled downtown on your wedding day.
SWAN POINT CEMETERY, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence - Permission must be
granted in advance to avoid any scheduling conflicts. (401) 272-1314.
ROGER WILLIAMS PARK, Elmwood Avenue, Providence - With its carefully manicured
gardens, waterfront lawns, pristine temple and colorful carousel, the park
offers newlyweds an exceptional variety of beautiful scenes for wedding
photographs.
COLT STATE PARK, Bristol - Striking iron gates hanging from historic stone
pillars mark the entrance to a beautiful park known for its sprawling, tree-
covered lawns that give way to a panoramic waterfront.
PRESERVATION SOCIETY OF NEWPORT COUNTY, Corner of Bellevue and Narragansett
Avenues, Newport. The Preservation Society of Newport County rents the grounds
of Green Animals, a delightful topiary garden located in Portsmouth. They also
rent the grounds of three of its mansions: Rosecliff, Marble House, and The
Elms. The fee is $100 per hour for any of the four properties. Call the

REDWOOD LIBRARY, 50 Bellevue Avenue, Newport - The oldest library building in
the United States. The $50 donation is for the use of the grounds only. For
permission, contact the library at (401) 847-0292.
RHODE ISLAND’S SCENIC WATERFRONT - Whether Narragansett or Newport, the East Bay
or the shores of our state’s ponds and reservoirs, the waterfront always
provides a most scenic setting for your formals.
OCEAN DRIVE AND LEDGE ROAD, off Bellevue Avenue, Newport - If it’s rocky New
England coastline that you’re looking for, you’ll find it along Ocean Drive and
Ledge Road.
YOUR CHURCH OR TEMPLE - The interiors of churches and temples are often
beautifully and ornately designed, and lend themselves quite well to formal
portraiture.
BARRINGTON TOWN CENTER - A country gazebo and white picket fence adorn the
grounds of this old New England town center.
PRIVATE YARDS - If friends or family have beautiful yards, you may ask for their
permission to use the grounds for your formals.
KINNEY AZALEA GARDENS - You’ll find spectacular azaleas bursting with color. May

POINT JUDITH LIGHTHOUSE - An ideal spot with plenty of old New England charm.
Point Judith, RI.
THE GARDENS AT THEATRE-BY-THE-SEA - Renowned for its lush, colorful flowers and

THE TOWERS AT NARRAGANSETT - Located next to the town beach, this historical
landmark is ideal for your photo session. Exterior shots only. Narragansett, RI.
BLOCK ISLAND SOUTHEAST LIGHTHOUSE - Stunning historical landmark that offers
sweeping views of the ocean. There is no fee or appointments necessary.
ATLANTIC INN - This inn located on High Street offers both panoramic pastoral
and water views. The gardens located on the Inn’s grounds are bursting with
color and fragrance throughout the summer months. You need to contact the Inn at
(401) 466-5883 to let them know the date and time of the shoot.
GRACE’S COVE - The west side of Block Island has stellar sunsets. There is
plenty of sand and sea to assist the sunsets for unforgettable island shots.
There is a little walking to get down to the water, but it is truly worth it.
There is no fee.
CAPE COD
WYCHMERE HARBOR, HARWICHPORT - Beautiful landscapes at the town park overlooking
Wychmere Harbor. There is a large grassy hill with a nice overview of this
quaint little harbor and The Wychmere Harbor Beach Club.
NEW SEABURY - Offers many great spots, especially if your reception is at The
Popponesset Inn. There are a couple of spots open to the public as well.
MARTHA’S VINEYARD
THE AQUINNAH CLIFFS AND LIGHTHOUSE - boast dunes, water and uncompromising
views. Perfect seascape photo site.
EDGARTOWN - Harbor View Hotel and the Edgartown Lighthouse. The beach
accommodates a pond, docks, great lighting and a wonderful variety of

NANTUCKET
BRANT POINT LIGHTHOUSE - A famous spot in downtown Nantucket creating a
beautiful backdrop for your photographs.
STEP’S BEACH - Located on the cliffs with a whole view of Nantucket Sound with
plenty of rosa ragosa in bloom!
